Yet the picture is not one-sided. The Middle East remains a live wire. Fresh U.S.-Iran exchanges, the near-closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and energy-driven inflation have not gone away. These forces continue to anchor gold's safe-haven bid even as rate expectations cap the upside. The result: a market that is volatile, directionally contested, and ripe for active trading — which is precisely the environment a trading competition thrives in.
Why Silver Has Outperformed Gold in 2026
If gold's 2026 run seemed dramatic, silver's was extraordinary. Between late November 2025 and mid-January 2026, spot silver rocketed from $50/oz to $91/oz in roughly 50 days — an 82% move that dwarfed gold's gains over the same period. The gold-to-silver ratio briefly collapsed to 50.57, a 13-year low, signaling that silver had become historically expensive relative to gold.

What Are XAUT and PAXG?
